The C Form

Moving further up the fretboard, the next fingering of the Blues scale is the C form. As with the previous Blues scale forms, this pattern is the same as the minor pentatonic C form, with the flat fifth note added. The minor pentatonic C form was introduced in Progressive Blues Lead Guitar Method.

Try the following example which ascends the C form of the Blues scale.

These next few licks should give you a few ideas for using the C form.

This example is played on the treble strings.

The following lick is an interesting lick played on the bass strings featuring hammer-ons and pull-offs.

Finally, a lick that almost descends the entire pattern.
