The Low Note A
The notes on the 5th string are all written on ledger lines. Like on the staff, notes can be written on a ledger line or in a space of a ledger line.
There can be up to 3 ledger lines written below the staff. On which ledger line is A written?
The new A is an open bass string. Which finger is used for the other A?
On which string is the other A?
The Low Note B
The new B is played with the second finger. Which finger is used for the other B?
On which string of the guitar is the other B? Name its name and number.
On which ledger line is the B note written?
On a separate sheet of paper, copy the following music and then complete the counts under this piece before playing it. Put "+" even when they are not played .
Middle C
This C, in all music (guitar, clarinet, flute, piano etc.) is called middle C.
The new C is played with the third finger. Which finger is used for the other C?
On which string of the guitar is the other C? Name its name and number .
Ties
A tie joins two notes together that have the same pitch (are on the same space or line). The second one is not played, as the first is held for the length of both.
On a separate sheet of paper, copy the following music and then draw in a tie wherever possible. If the stems go up, the tie goes underneath and if the stems go down, the tie goes above the notes.
