Another common harmonica technique is to slide up or down to a specific note. This can really add drama and excitement to your playing. The symbol for a slide is a letter s above the note to which you are sliding, as shown here. Listen to the following example on the CD to hear the effect created by the use of slides. Once again the harp is omitted on the repeat so you can play with the band.
Here is a riff which makes use of slides. Once again, remember to swing the eighth notes.
