Fingerpicking introductions using three and four string chords, such as this example, are featured in many songs.

In this example the technique of a droning string is introduced. This involves a string sounding continuously throughout a series of chord changes. Use pattern 13 (pa i m a) throughout, played on the first four strings only (except for the A bass note in bars 6 and 7).
