The Tie

The Tie

A tie is a curved line that connects two notes with the same position on the staff. A tie tells you to pick the first note only, and to hold it for the length of both notes.

The C Chord

To play the C chord, put the first finger of your left hand just behind the first fret of the second string. Strum three strings.

In this song play four bars of the C chord.

This song is in ^ time and uses the three chords you have learned so far. There is also a tie between bars 15 and 16.
