Shown at the top right of the following exercise is what is referred to as a Rhythm Pattern. This indicates which strumming pattern to use in each bar throughout the song. The rhythm pattern above the following example shows two strums per bar, each strum having the value of a half note. In bar 8 there are two chords in the bar. Each one receives two counts.
