The following pieces, although both marked Andante (or relatively slow) should be played quite differently in style and feel.
Carulli's Andante is in the style of the Siciliene which is an old dance of Sicilian origin in a lilting ) time. Sor's Andante, however, is in an almost march like * time and should be played quite rigidly. Both pieces are primarily in the first position with occasional shifts to the second position (marked II).
Note: the use of dynamics and tempo markings throughout both pieces and selected pieces to follow.
