Here is the same solo with bass drum added to beats 1 and 3 in each bar.

This paradiddle features two accented notes.

Bass drum and crash cymbal are played on the accented notes in the following example.

The Eighth Note Rest

This is an eighth note rest and indicates silence for the count of one eighth note.
